Project Description

Clinic Building South (CBS) Building
Denver, Colorado

The renovation of the 120,000 SF four-story University Physicians, Inc. Building adjacent to the University of Colorado Health Services Center in Aurora, CO was the first component of work to be completed as part of the $1.7 billion Denver VA Replacement Center project for the Veterans Affairs Administration. The four-story steel frame building was completely gutted and remodeled with extensive asbestos abatement in the scope of work. The work included a new five-story elevator and stairway addition on the East end of the building, replacement of all the existing electrical switch gear, new lighting controls, new HVAC system and controls, all new plumbing and re-configuration of restroom groups, the entire mechanical and electrical system is now under direct digital control, new finishes throughout the building including a pharmacy, dozens of conference rooms, offices, and patient examination rooms. The CBS Building was equipped with state-of-the-art communications and electronics to make this a world-class facility and is currently in use by the 460th Medical Division Group from Buckley AFB where they provide care for their active duty staff.

“As the general contractor hired by Kiewit-Turner on the this project, Centerre performed a well executed project employing solid management, scheduling and construction skills on a very challenging medical office building renovation for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The level of service they brought by Centerre to this most difficult process reflected an integrity that is in high demand in this industry.”
